John Adams (Worcester, February 15, 1947) is an American composer of the most popular and performed in the world.

graduated from Harvard, where he was already active as a clarinetist and conductor, then it is perfected in composition with Leon Kirchner, David Del Tredici and Roger Sessions.

Between 1972 and 1983 he taught at the conservatory in San Francisco.

In 2003 he was awarded the Pulitzer Prize. John Adams is also a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
